1 Import the transactions to ask about
No file handy? How to export from QuickBooks Online from Xero
2 Choose what to ask
| Ask | Date | Payee / description | Bank account | Amount | Current category | Ask for receipt | Status |

Categories your client can pick
Plain words for your client. The account next to each is only for you: it pre-fills “Account to use” when answers come back and is never put in the link.
Request details
The link contains the selected transactions (date, description, amount), encrypted. Anyone who has the link can open it, including email security scanners on the way, so don't include anything you wouldn't put in an email. Details
3 Send the links
Cluerow doesn't send email for you: the draft opens in your own email app. Each link stays under the length older Outlook versions accept. If an email app breaks a long link, use Copy and paste it into a plain message, or send it by text.

4 Add your client's answers
Your client's answers come back as a reply link (in an email or text) or a small .cluerow file. Only this browser can open them, because it keeps the key for each request.
| Date | Payee / description | Amount | Client answer | Note | Receipt | Account to use | Status |
|---|
5 Export the worksheet
The worksheet is sorted by date, like the bank feed in QuickBooks Online and Xero, so you can work down it and categorize each transaction there. Cluerow doesn't change anything in your accounting software.

Defaults for new requests
Used to pre-fill new requests. Saved in this browser only.
Backup & delete
Worksheets, answers and the keys needed to open your clients' replies live only in this browser. Export a backup to keep a copy or to move to another computer. The backup contains client transactions and keys: store it like any other client file.
