Cluerow (“the Service”) is operated by Cluerow. By using the Service you agree to these terms. The Service is currently free of charge; there are no paid features or purchases.

What the Service does

The Service reads bank transaction exports that you provide, lets you choose transactions and questions, creates encrypted links containing them, shows those questions to the person who opens a link, creates encrypted replies, and merges replies into a worksheet you can download. It runs in browsers. It does not connect to QuickBooks, Xero or any other accounting system, does not send email or messages, and does not keep copies of transaction data on a server.

Links are readable by anyone who has them

A question link contains its own key. Anyone who obtains a link can read the transactions in it. You are responsible for deciding what to include, for sending links only to the intended recipient, and for using a channel appropriate for the information. Don't put passwords, full card numbers, bank account numbers or other sensitive identifiers in messages, categories or transaction descriptions.

Not accounting, tax or legal advice

The Service and the guides on this website are general information and tools only. They are not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. Clients' answers are what the client entered; the Service doesn't verify them. You are responsible for reviewing answers and for how transactions are recorded.

Your data and your clients' data

Your data is stored in your browser on your device (see the Privacy Policy). We can't see, recover or restore it, and we can't open reply links for you. Keep your own backups and protect them. You are responsible for having the right to use and share the client information you import and for meeting your confidentiality and data-protection obligations to your clients.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to impersonate anyone, to request passwords, payment card or bank account details, for phishing or fraud, or for any unlawful purpose. We may block links reported to us as abusive.

Free version credit

The client answer page shows a small “Powered by Cluerow” line, and PDF worksheets include a small footer line saying they were prepared with Cluerow.

Trademarks

QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc. Xero is a trademark of Xero Limited. Cluerow is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Intuit or Xero. Their names are used only to describe the file formats the Service can read.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Links can be cut off, altered or blocked by email and messaging systems, and browser storage can be cleared. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, revenue or business, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Changes

We may change the Service or these terms. The date above shows the latest version.
